I went to try my dress on yesterday

I ordered my wedding dress in Nov 2008 and it wasn't very mse (Sorry).
Its not your typical white wedding dress, it is white with red organza overlay so it looks like a red dress.
It arrived at the dress shop and even though its not being fitted until September time i wanted to go see it and try my shoes, jewellery etc with it to make sure I'm on the right track.
The designer has only gone and made it with white organza overlay! So it looks like a very boring simple dress.
I'm amazed for a variety of reasons, they designed the dress to be in red so why make it in white? The order form specifically states red organza so why didn't they pick that up before sending it out to the shop. And even more amazing why didnt the shop check what came into the shop against the order and it was left to me to drive a 80 mile round trip to let them know that had made a major mistake.
I'm surprisingly calm about it as they have 8 mths to rectify the problem, however at the moment I don;t have a clue what they are going to do as the designer was shut yesterday and the shop can't speak to them until Tuesday!

Wow thats a pretty big mistake to make!! Hope they get it sorted quickly for you so you have the peace of mind.
Apart fom the obvious mistake was it as you expected? Good fit etc?0 -
Thanks Spaklylime
When it's in red it will be amazing, the white just made me look so washed out.
It's so well boned too that underwear is not required which i am very happy about.0 -
Doesn't anyone else think that this is a major !!!! up?0

Well, yes, but you do seem to be quite calm about it...and it was quite quiet on the boards when you posted...talulahbeige wrote: ».....I'm surprisingly calm about it as they have 8 mths to rectify the problem...
What explanation have they given for not realising? Don't forget to argue for free alterations to recoup the cost of your wasted journey.0 -
It's only an overlay. Just means a bit of reconstruction so don't panic! It will be amazing I'm sure. xx:D0

I think it is, and I would be asking for a discount on the price for the 'inconvenice' of travelling, and you 'may' be able to be a bit more MSE tootalulahbeige wrote: »Doesn't anyone else think that this is a major !!!! up?
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
I'd be fuming!
Not that only the designer has c0cked up, but like you said, the shop didn't even check it was right before you went all the way to see it.
A discount for wasted time/petrol, plus the upset and panic etc, should do it
