Candy washing machine won't lock

Hi
My 20 month old Candy GO1482 won't lock when I press the start button. The door security light continues to flash and the usual click isn't heard and the door can be opened. I first noticed a problem last night when the machine finished it wouldn't unlock. I switched it off at the wall and waited until it opened.
Is anyone able to point me in the right direction as to what has happened? Is it the PCB burnt out?
