can any body help?
my mate has power of attorney over his grandad as he is in a home with an illness he wants to know how he can find out how many bank accounts his grandad has and with who.
is there a central number that he can call or send a letter to or does he have to contact every bank direct one by one?

Need to contact each individual bank to find out.
Personally, I'd go through Grandad's paperwork and drop a letter and see what's there. That will probably uncover the main current account and any savings. Assuming those are found I'd also fire off a letter to NS&I just in case he has some old Premium Bonds.
If he is/was an avid internet saver it could get more complicated.0
