Criminal record and US visit

Got a criminal record, don't know if you can go to the US.

MODS have decided its ok to just go, as the US "don't have access to the UK criminal records database"

That is an incorrect statement, by the way, but don't let that bother you.

Anyone who asks for advice on the same question, then just post "US won't find out", forget about the fact that its a breach of US Law, thats not really important is it, as its US law, not UK.

Start a thread in shop till you drop, pointing out its easier to just nick the stuff, under the same principle thats legit now. OK its a breach of UK law, but what the heck.

Anyone who wants real advice on US immigration law then they know the place to get truthful answers, as its definately not here.

It would enhance your credibility greatly if in place of your incoherent rant you were to provide some evidence. :)

Whats the point entirely. You may offer advice to someone who has asked a pertinant question regarding the VWP, and offer advice on the given "facts", then some idiot comes up and says "hey don't worry, the US won't know anyways".

    Absolutely no point at all.

your reply shows your intelligence. You haven't the foggiest what this is about. You wouldn't stand a chance in answering the original question.

    Heres the original question

Sorry to start another thread on this but..............

Me and my partner want to travel to the USA and Australia next year to visit family.

My partener has a conviction from 3 year ago for harrasment for which she recieved 100 hours community service.

We want to do things legally and above board as we actually know someone who got caught in America after answering no on his Visa Waiver, they did find out he had a criminal record!

What are our chances and what is the process for being admitted into these countires. We've seeked a little advice but if our chances are basically zero we wont bother wasting the money and applying.

One further point - my partner actaully filled in a visa waiver online and mistakenly answered no to the criminal conviction question. This was several months ago, before we actually realised we would be needing a visa. Would this pose any problems when applying for a visa in the future?

    Thanks in advance!

    go ahead and answer that.

Does no one watch UK Border Force? :D

US Immigration can easily call up the UK to ask questions on an individual...

Why would they want to “call up” unless you gave them some reason to? If you try to enter the US wearing a black mask, carrying a swag bag over your shoulder whilst wearing a hooped jumper then you are asking to be singled out. Pass through like any normal tourist and you will have no trouble.

The highest mountains in Croatia belong to the Dinarides range that is sometimes also called Dinaric Alps, of which Dinara is the highest mountain in Croatia. Together with the easternmost parts of the Alps, these mountains span most of the country, and their orogenic activity started in the Paleozoic with the Variscan orogeny and continued in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic with the Alpine orogeny.
