I have my £100 from A&L; now can I switch back?

Many many grovelling apologies if this has been asked before, and I have asked it in another thread but had no replies but I really want to know if I can switch back to my old account now. I had every intention of keeping the A&L account and ditching Halifax altogether but it takes far too long to transfer between accounts, and the displayed balances are very confusing, I no longer feel like I am in control of our money.:(

Is there anything to stop me having my wages switched? I only have two DDs and they should be easy to switch too

Thanks folks

It'll be in the T & C. Did you have to wait 3 months for the £100?

I imagine now you've had the £100, you can switch.

I certainly switched from A&L almost immediately after I received my £100, having found them to be awful.

Just ensure that you maintain the minimum monthly deposit (£500, from memory?) until the account is closed, so they don't hit you with an underfunding charge.

I moved to A&L 2 years ago after 20 odd years with Halifax. They lured me with a high interest ISA, 6% on current account etc. They were terrible in the transfer, blamed Halifax for everything.
Now theyre under Santander who are equally terrible in my short experience with them I expect A&L to continue being rubbish

  • ITs a bit impossible to figure what bank to open next when someone says A and L are terrible anthe says they are OK etc etc I was about to open an A and L bank for that £75 deal and use that bank for general banking

You'll find that with any bank - it's down to personal preferences/expectations.

Having experienced generally positive banking services from several of the big name banks, I simply found A&L's service dire in comparison; you may, or may not, find that it suits your needs adequately.
