bathroom tile dilemma!

The floor tiles are charcoal, so they are like a dark grey / black in matt. I'm not sure if I have a pic of the floor. I'll have a look and post it later if I have.
The wall tiles were gloss tiles with a bevelled edge from B&Q and the mosaiacs were also from there, sold in large square size packs and I've just cut them into strips of three mosaics to make each row.
It's a bit more fiddley tiling and grouting the mosaics but worth the extra effort.0 -
I went for beige with a stone border and a slightly darker tile on the floor as it was a small bathroom I laid the tiles on a diagonal as then the tiles look much better. The tiles on the wall were 6x9 I believe but that just made it much easier quicker to tile then using 6x6 tiles.0

We went for beige with stone mosiac border in ours as well. We have a very small bathroom and knocked into the airing cupboard on the landing for a seperate shower. We have the back wall where the bath is below a window fully tiled, the wall where sink and toilet are fully tiled, then 1 wall painted and the final wall is all shower cubicle and door from landing. We have chocolate coloured bamboo on the floor. I love the beige as it's warmer and more luxurious. We thought about white but I find it can look quite cheap, but I find it very cold and clinical. I don't think beige would date any more than white to be honest.0

I've just bought these white Laura Ashley Highgate tiles and I love them to bits!

I was keen on slate on the floor but then decided to get these instead from Topps:

Bathroom is currently a shell, so can't wait to get it all done.
I've got mosaic tiles in the ensuite shower. They are big tiles about 12" square with the tiny mosaic tiles on. However they have grooves between each piece of mosaic. The water collects in there and the grooves go black very quickly. You have to give them a good scrub down with a scrubbing brush weekly to keep on top of it. If I was buying again for the shower, I'd either choose flat tiles, or grout each tile to fill the grooves up.
You have bought one of the poorest tiles on the market, There may have the LA brand but check them for size and shade
We did a 15sqm bathroom and some tiles where up to 3mm difference in size, All the same batch and shade but the colours where really noticiable. Cutomer returned to Homebase where she was given another batch....Which where exactly the sameHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -

Ladybird - have you put the tiles all up the walls? Its so hard to picture 'the finished product' and know what to do.
Lovely bathroom - I feel like I am hating mine before I have even started!!0 -
Yes the tiles go all the way up.....i can take another foto if u like to see more of it......the bathroom suite is 10yrs old..i didnt replace that , however i swapped all the gold taps ,wood, ect for chrome or white i also swapped the radiator for this one which was on offer at BQ at the time (last year)0

I just wanted some advice really... I am looking for bathroom tiles and in my mind I have two looks - both very different but I don't want to make a mistake.
The bathroom is not that big - we have extended into the landing slightly so that we can get in a separate shower cubicle which will all be tiled. There is a chunky wall which will be tiled and the bath is along the same wall - the whole of that wall will be tiled. Along the back wall is a big window and we were thinking of tiling half way up. The left hand wall will have the toilet, sink and towel rail - the only tiling on this wall will be a splashback above the sink. The bits that aren't tiled will be painted white.
Look one- grey slate tiles on the floor, matt large white tiles for wall, small matt white mosaic tiles for shower cubicle. or would glossy white be better? My problem with white is that I am worried about it looking dirty after a little while. I imagine the slate tiles would need to be sealed? I don't mind sealing the floor but - definitely don't want to be sealing the wall tiles.
Look two-Large creamy beige ceramic tile-same on floor as wall. I have seen a tile I like, then to stop it being completely plain maybe a brown ceramic mosaic tile just for the inside of the shower cubicle and the splashback.
I just haven't seen anything in showrooms or mags so cannot imagine what it would look like.
What do you think? Any ideas or pictures would be gratefully appreciated!
Thanks. X
Hi,
Look 1-Yes the slate tiles would have to be sealed.
Look 2 - i have just finished a bathroom with the same kind of look as your talking about. 300x300mm beige ceramic tiles with a marble mosaic border running around the centre of the walls. Then used the same tiles on the floor but fixed in a diamond pattern. The room looks so much bigger than i did before!0
