Lidl sell a bread flour, but I don't know the price. All of their stuff is of good quality so it may be worth a try if there is a Lidl near you.

yes great bread flour at 47p :)

I've been using asda bread flour, (not smart price) and so far all the loafs from the bm have been very very tasty.

Numps - they look gorgeous! I never did master hand bread making, I always use a breadmaker but wish I could make them by hand like that!

bread flour in Lidl near me is 61p - same as tesco. We use both. We then use a strong wholemeal to mix - usually morrisons but sometimes waitrose - both 99p.

I have had my Panasonic bread maker for a couple of years now and nearly always use Sainsbury's own white and wholemeal flour (50/50 mix) and Saisnbury's own yeast. The only loaf we weren't too keen on was the quick bake one, 2 hours I think.
  • Yes, Lidl near me is 61p as well, as is Tescos. I've never noticed any difference btwn Sains, Lidl or Tesco bread flour. Dove yeast is excellent and good value.
    £2 savers club no.107 :j £36 so far.
  • If it's going to be eaten quickly, the cheapest way to make bread is with any supermarket's value plain flour.
