Washer-dryer drain pipe blocked

Hello
I own a Zanussi 16270w washer/dryer. The problem I have is that the drain pipe gets blocked on a regular basis, and needs to be unblocked manually (once a month, and I do about 4 washes and 2 dryer cycles a week).
The machine stops draining the water (error E20) and it's fine again once the hose is unblocked. It's mainly fluff from the dryer (the actual filter at the bottom of the machine is normally clear).

I think that by removing the screen on the end of the pipe this may improve, but even if it's only fluff could it clogg the drain?

What I would like to know is if this is a common problem for Zanussi/AEG/Electrolux washer-dryers, and other brands, or there could be a fault with my machine?

PS I don't know anything about plumbing, and I'm not going to do anything else to it. It's still under warrany, purchased from John Lewis.

I'd just ring John Lewis as it's under warranty - but in my experience problems with Washer/Dryers are of two sorts

    a) Overloading - most Washer/Dryers can only dry half of what they can wash

    b) Outlet pipe is too low - generally you need part of the outlet pipe at a similar height to that of the washer itself

    thank you Alan
Unfortunately a) does not apply. This w/d is able to wash more than 1/2 a load, but I try and weigh the next lot just in case.
    b) I don't think this is the problem, it's already raised.

    Will probably phone JL

lol, i was trained by zanussi as a service engineer 22 years ago when they first launched the turbodry machines, i am shocked that it is still a problem after all these years, we used to have to pull the top off the machine to clear the blockage 'back in the day', condensor driers are ok but washer/dryers were and obviously still are a naff idea

It's a necessary compromise for some people, I don't have room for a full dryer, and drying clothes takes ages in my flat.
I bough the Zanussi because it was recommended as a good buy and reliable. Hope it does not turn out to be a mistake...
