Hi guys

Been with the AA for a long time until last year when I took advantage of the Norwich Union 1/2 price offer. Renewal has now come through at £70 and been a moneysaver don't quite want to pay this plus I have a newer car now.

Anyway been looking at Autoaid and the only thing worrying me is the claiming back of the cash which to be honest after reading other ppl's posts doesn't seem too bad.

However I also looked at Martins's suggestion of Euro-Assist for Autoservice full cover but I notice they charge £50 excess for home call outs. After searching through InsureSupermarket I see there is another company called NCI Platinum which seems really good and is only £42 for the year.

Has anyone else used these or should I just go with Autoaid?

I also noticed Halfords were offering complete cover for £59.99 on their website too.

Wonder if we could get Norwich Union to price match anyone?

Thanks m8 - They got a new customers coz of you :D

£44.99 and no excess on homestart either !!!! (insuresupermarket quotes £50 excess on EuropAssist).

I was looking at Autoaid but only £45 expenses on homestart. My old man had a head gasket go once on the drive way as he pulled away - would have cost £90 to get it towed plus call out charge. The lady at Autoaid said they would only cover up to £45 on this. Anyway I don't mind paying the extra £12 for piece of mind.

I like the idea of AutoAid, but don't like the idea of having to pay for it upfront. There are times when I will very little cash and I dont have a credit card. No temptation to spend then.

Will either go with these guys, or me and my OH will share the Tesco Policy. If you take 2 out at the same time, the level of cover we want goes to £45.

I think Martin should update his breakdown list and put these people on ...

What are the policies of both these companies - are they for one person/one car or is there cover for two people and two car? Currently me and the wife are with the AA and this year the policy has gone up £35 after no call outs. Paid £88 last year and looking for something similar.
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.
