Looking to move house but...

My fiance and I are currently in a rented property, where we have been living for about 10 months and we are having a few issues with the letting agency. Firstly, we have been reporting problems since the week we moved in and are still trying to get the letting agency to resolve these issues (they are blaming the landlady for these repairs not being done because the landlady won't pay for them).

We also paid 6 months rent up front, then when those 6 months were up, we repeatedly asked the LA for their bank details and received them at the start of the 8th month, at which point we sent them 2 payments (1 for each months rent). The letting agency are claiming that they haven't received those 2 payments, however, they have received payments since then so until the bank have finished their investigation, we are 2 months 'in arrears' although the LA are being quite good and not chasing for the money, etc.

However, due to (mainly) the issues not being repaired, we have decided to move and have found a really nice house that we are going to view on Monday. However, I am concerned that our current LA may bad mouth us because of nagging for the repairs to be done and because of the missing 2 months rent.

Can anyone please offer any advice?

Have you been reporting the problems with the property in writing? Are you aware that the letting agency have no responsibility to repair or maintain the property, this is the landlord's duty? Have you been chasing the bank regularly to conclude their investigation? There isn't anyone here with a crystal ball who can advise what your letting agency will do next!

Yes, I have reported the problems in writing, I'm well aware of the appropriate ways to report problems. The problem is, it's the landlady that's refusing to pay for the repairs to be carried out.

I have been chasing the bank, and I have provided the letting agency with copies of my bank statement proving that the payments were sent which is why they're not 'chasing me'.

I'm not expecting to find someone with a 'crystal ball' but I am hoping someone can give me some advice.

I don't know whether I should tell the new letting agency about the issues I've been having (and the missing 2 payments) when we go to look at the house or whether they'll see that as a big problem or me being petty and trying to bad mouth the current letting agency (which isn't my intention).

i would treat it as a new start and not mention the problems you have had, as unless they ask for a reference then the new lettings agency doesn't need to know about it. Surely the main thing they ask is if the rent has been paid on time, which it has, so it should not be a problem i should imagine
