Hi, I have a garden pond and this year for some strange reason it is still full of tadpoles!
A few people I know also have ponds and have noticed this, and one of my friends children have some in a tank and are waiting patiently to see them turn into frogs, does anyone know why, is it the weather or some kind of mutation?
We do have a few tiny baby frogs around but there are still hundreds more tadpoles!:o

Perhaps you had more than one laying of tadpoles so they may not be as advances as the others? You could still have a month (ish to go) before they have finished there transformation.0

The "spawn" was all at the same time as I had to shovel it into the pond due to the frogs leaving it in puddles around the pond:p ! The tadpoles are bigger now than the baby frogs!Growing old is manditory, Growing up is optional! :j0 -
Um, are you sure these are tadpoles? You wouldn't be the first person to be waiting patiently for mosquito larvae to turn into frogs ... If they seem very tiny and not growing very fast, they could be.0

Yes, I do know what tadpoles look like having lived here for 16 years and the frogs have always been here! We also have waterboatmen and various other creepy crawlies in there as well as waterlillies.:oGrowing old is manditory, Growing up is optional! :j0 -
Does anyone know whether the pump/filter I have just fitted in my pond will clear the water, or should I be doing something else also?0

It may be the weather delaying the final transition to froglets as they will be more vulnerable in hot weather. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Yep, I still have a pond full of taddies. They are HUGE. But showing no sign of hatching into froglets yet.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0
