Ive used the Smashbox peach coloured primer and also the clear one and they were both ok, i bought the Urban Decay pore perfecting one but didnt like it as i felt it made my face greasy but i saw on a beauty blog it should really be worked into your skin and ever since its been great, but the best primer i have ever tried is by Fyrinnae.com, they are based in the US and they do take ages to deliver as everything is made fresh for your order but its only $5 and you get free delivery if you spend over $20 i think, ive ordered 2 now and i adore them, they do great eye shaddows too, theres loads about them on YT as thats where i heard about them.
I tried the Mac Prep & Prime and i didnt like it, didnt do much for me at all, not sure if they'll give free samples though.0 -
Given thats its for your wedding day, I would be tempted to go round all the make up counters and ask for free samples to test for reaction before the big day

i second benefit, they do free trials so go book an appointment for the morning then see how you go for the rest of the day. i thought the face primer was excellent, skin felt really silky and friends commented that my skin/makeup looked like i had a healthy glow. very happy with it - and it did the job, makeup stayed on literally all day.getting married: 02/10/10

Thanks for all the replies, will now have to try and find time to visit some make up counters, do benefit have their own shops or are they in debenhams etc? I think there's a MAC counter in York - I'm off to google!"Normal is not something to aspire to - it is something to get away from" - Jodie Foster0

In our area there is benefit in debenhams boots and john lewis, so im sure there must be in the same stores elsewhere.getting married: 02/10/10

There are some benefit shops, there is one in Reigate near me. If not House of Fraser - best to check the website. Benefit tends to be where all the Bobbi Brown, Mac counters are so sure it will be there too.0

I have quite greasy skin and open pores, and I use the Bare Escentuals primer under my make up. I find it really smooth to apply and is really good. I then use a dusting of Mineral Veil, and then bareMinerals foundation, with another dusting of Mineral Veil over the top. It stays all day!
I know I sound like a B.E salesperson but I assure you I am not! I am just delighted to have found something that works on my greasy yet dry, acne prone, eczema skin, that makes me look pretty good! I have been through nearly every make up brand over the last 20 years trying to find something good, with various degress of success!
I have also used the Mac Studio FX (i think thats the name) foundation and it stayed on quite well.
If you have dry patches, be wary of the type of foundation you use as well, as some can exacerbate the problem and make it look more obvious!
I echo what everyone else says, take advantage of the fact you are looking for wedding make up, and get a few free trys of things to see what suits best, and feels most natural, so that on the day you dont have to worry about it!0 -
I've heard that Lanacane anti chafing gel works well as a primer it's worth a shot, you can a free sample from their websiteBooo!!!0

I like the bare escentuals primer, used after a light moisturiser to stop your skin drying out.Bump due 22nd September0
