Money credited on my credit card not by me?

Hi, I had 800 quid on my credit card and I was going to pay it all off the other day and then close the account. However I checked my statement last week and someone has credited my account by 700 quid which means I've only got 100 to pay off which I have done now. I'm just not sure what to do now as it is obviously the cc companys mistake and can they legally take the money straight out again? thanks

Call your bank and ask who credited your account, if there was a mistake they might take the money back.Mr. Mulla0

Yes they can and probably will take it out when somebody else compains that a payment made is missing.
If you use this money and pay the remaining balance off you will be guilty of theft by closing the account.
If you pay off the remaining £100 and keep the account open and don't touch it for 6 years you might get lucky!0 -
They have 6 years to claim it back., after that it's yours.
Personally I'd rather give it back than worry about it for 6 years
I had too much bonus given to me by mistake at work.
I didn't want to worry about it for 6 years plus have my employer think I was dishonest, so I gave it back.
90% of my colleagues I asked, said they would keep it.0
