"European" Driving lessons in UK?
We are off to Europe and will be driving "on the wrong side of the road" for the first time. Does anyone know of any companies that give you off the road driving lessons so you can practice driving on the right. If not, can anyone recommend any books etc that gives you tips or where you can learn what the road signs say?
Thanks
Jane

Nobody can simulate driving on the right here, it is very straightforward to drive on " the wrong side ", you just need to adjust to the different conditions, the only real difficulty is overtaking, when your forward visibility is obviously restricted.
Most traffic signs are similar or the same as ours.
Tell us where you intend to go in Europe, they do have some different legal requirements.0 -
I fly into Luxebourg airport and drive north into Belguim.

Whenever I drive LHD 'over there',I find I tend to keep far too close to the edge of the road-might just be me,but maybe something to keep in mind.0

I remember as passenger through France that they leave indicator on when in outer lane and indicate back in. I can't remember Belguim much apart from one of the road where you felt like you were taking your life in your own hands.0

My kids take it in turn to 'watch my right' until I get into the swing of things - it may be useful to assign this job to someone if you're going to have passengers.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Its simply should not be an issue.
The only time you need to focus is when there are no other cars around in rural areas, you may revert to diving on the "wrong side" when tired, if you think this may be an issue then draw an arrow on a post it note and place it on the dash as a little nudge to keep you on the "right" side.0 -
You can buy a transparent sticker from Halfords that you stick on the windscreen to remind you which side of the road to drive on.
Amazon sell a European driving guide published by Haynes called Driving Abroad. It's also possibly sold in Halfords too.The man without a signature.0 -
One thing that used to catch me out in a couple of countries (Germany currently for sure and was Belgium - but I haven't been there for a while) is that on urban roads you are expected to slow down for traffic entering from the right even if you are on the more major road. You'll need to read up on that....0
