If you change from BT, please check your call plan very carefully.
I changed from BT to Sky for calls and broadband. At the time Sky did not offer line rental.
Next quarter, I got a bill for BT for line rental plus one off costs. This turned out to be caller ID and 1571. I did not want these "services" complained and asked for refund, no joy:(. I was told these services would be cancelled .................
Next bill, I still have these one off service costs
I have now changed my Sky package to include line rental

did you have those services before?
Yes I had those services for free when I got my calls via BT. I did not notice until BT pointed out their conditions in (very) small print on their web-site, £3/month charge for low call users. Fair cop gov and I hope a.n.others will learn from my mistake
I await an explaination from BT why they have continued to charge me after these services were cancelled last quarter."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

My post is to advise others so that they do not make the same "mistake""A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

If you ever wish to change your phone or internet supplier in the future please be aware that in all probability you will have to first transfer your line back to BT. This could cost you £125.That gum you like is coming back in style.0

I am pleased to report>
I have had a phone call from Jim Gallagher @ BT customer services. He has agreed to refund the £10.77 which was charged in error and appologised for my inconvenience."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

JW...who told you?
If it was Sky then they're mis-selling. Changing your calls doesn't directly affect any calling features (I know this as I changed my BT calls last month to TalkTalk... aaaaand changed them right back!)
If it was BT then they're mis-advising... I'm assuming BT would call people attempting to leave their calls, but maybe not.0
