Hi
I have recently acquired a London Hotel room key and keyring.
It is a large solid bronze key fob with etched edges and the 'R' in the center.. It also has the room number disk and the room key attached.
I have been told it is over 100 years old..one of the first used in the hotel.
Anyone any ideas of a value for such a thing as i am looking to sell it. OR is anyone out there a specialist..or anyone with some advice..
Any help greatly appreciated as i cant find anything about it on the net.
Many thanks in advance

if you could maybe upload some pictures of it so we have an idea of what it looks like it may be easier to research into its history and maybe it's worth.
Does it have any distinguishing marks (other than the 'R') and if possible maybe a close up picture of the marks and the logo.
Who advised you of its possible age?
Have you been in contact with the hotel to see if they know anything else about it's age etc...?0 -
I would go to Ritz website and enquire with them. They may like it in a display case! It sounds like something i would like too, photo pls.TO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0

Hi..thanks for the responses..i have contacted the Ritz hotel and am awaiting a response..i will take some pictures and load them up shortly for you to see.
It is solid bronze with the key to the room door and room number disc attached.
I know its age from the person who handed it down to me as a present. I am not really looking to sell it, i am just interested in its history and value etc..and was hoping there maybe someone on here that knows a thing or 2 :P0 -

Is that a postcode on it? If so they came out in 1973.0

yes it is a postcode W1V 9DG which where i understand the Ritz hotel in London to located
That probably means its not as old...may i ask how you know this?? just for interest
I can confirm however that it has not been used for over 30 years as it has been in a personal collection.
Does anyone one know if these large type keyrings are still used or do the Ritz just have a swipe card system or something..that would be interesting to know.
Thanks0 -

i thought they introduced the postcode system in 1959?
that doesnt mean that the postcode on the back wasnt added at a later date???
I posted that before you edited your post
