Any experience of Orchids in tandem

I have connected 2 Orchids in tandem - a V4+ on the incoming side, and a V4 on my side (because I wanted 2 different definitiions of 'daytime').
I have noticed, that when I set the time on the V4, the activity light also comes on the V4+ beyond it, so presumably both Orchids are updated. So obviously I need to disconnect the V4+ before altering any V4 settings.
Anyway, my real question is - given that the V4+ has its own power supply, does anyone know whether the clock setting in the V4 will also survive the V4+ being disconnected from the incoming telephone line?
(At present I assume; since the BT voltage is 48V and the V4+ power supply is only 12V; that the clock in the V4 would need to be reset?)

Oops - does not seem to work at all with 2 Orchids in tandem - I guess they can't decide which should handle the call, so neither does - no call gets out
