Multi Media Player - Whats your view on this one:

I won £400 in a competition to spend at Comet and I would really like to buy myself a multimedia player. I spend a lot of time on public transport and I think I would use it quite a bit. Does anyone have any opinion on this one:

What does it actually do in laymans terms?

In Laymans terms (please dont be offended)
Its an mp3 player plays music
video player plays videos
video camera records moving pictures with a 1.2mp camera so it like a camera phone in quality.
It wil also play back any photos you put on there, im not sure if it will take them but seeing as it has a camera on it it should

It contains 20GB of storage, the amount of files it will hold will depend on too many variants, so I couldnt tell you you can hold 1000 albums or so many films as depending on the way the file is created it can change. a rough guide a single cd at reasonable mp3 quality is about 50-60MB in to perspective 1000MB is about 1 GB see there is no science to the values. 1 film can take about 700MB. As for photos it depends how many mp the camera takeing them was on how big they are in files size.

They are very compact a downside of this is that the screen is very small and I dont think I could watch a full film on one myself but they are aparently very good mp3 players the video fuction I think is more of a novelty.
My mate has had about 4 diferent Archos devices, his method of upgrade was to break his current one once it had been discontinued and replaced with a new model he then got an upgrade and paid a little bit more for the upgrade. breaking them wasnt easy he washed them, threw it up in the air about the heght of the house and let it drop to the floor and the !!!!!! still worked he even had it in the freezer for a while so they are pretty reliable.

the other option especially with £400 to spend would be to buy a PSP and a 2GB or 4GB memory card it is larger than the gmini but it plays mp3, mp4 videos and UMS videos ohh and it plays games too. It also has wireless internet access and there is a GPS adaptor around the corner and a camera if thats the sort of things your looking at.

Ok, so if it plays films how do you transfer your films onto it in the first place. I gather they are from your PC?
