Help - Easyjet have cancelled our flight

Can anybody please give me some advice.

We booked easyjet flights months ago to travel to Rome Ciampino on the 1st August but on Friday Easyjet sent us an e-mail cancelling the flight. Normally I wouldn't mind this but last week I paid out nearly £1300 to Thomson for a mobile home. So we have a mobile home to stay in but no way to get to Rome. Even if I am able to get flights from Newcastle I will probably pay a lot more that the £260 I paid originally to Easyjet. If I was able to cancel the mobile home I would probably do so and start again but within 28 days of departure you have to pay 90% of the cost if you cancel. Can anybody give me advice on where to start sorting this out.

Thank you

Have you got holiday insurance at all???

When were you advised the flight was cancelled? - if it is less than 2 weeks in advance of the flight, you will be entitled to a refund of the ticket and also up to 600 Euros compensation, under the 2005 air passenger charter.

Can Easyjet not offer an alternative flight?

Phone Easyjet and see if they have an alternative or any cancellations on later or earlier flights.

See if there are any Euroline buses going to the same destination.

Thanks for the replies. I panicked a little bit there when I opened the e-mail from Easyjet as dd is looking forward to the holiday so much.

Impy78 - Easyjet are so clever cancelling the flight with just over 2 weeks to go.

I have been on the Easyjet website and managed to get a flight out the following day, so all I have lost is one day out of a 14 day holiday, still quite annoying though. We do have insurance but as we will lose less than £100 for the night we won't be staying in the mobile home I don't think it's worth claiming, we will probably be paying most of this in excess.
