When the UK government can sort other things out like crime, education and health only then I could start to believe they'll be able to sort some of the spam out.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

What do you suggest the UK Government can actually DO about scam emails, given that the vast proportion of the scammers are not within the jurisdiction of the UK Government, let alone that of the EU?

Did you hear about King Canute when you were at school? Then draw the parallel...

If the UK gov has to ask for emails to be forwarded, they obviously dont have the brains to harvest them themselves, so have no chance of solving this problem.

Unless its a scam, and a way to get the public on board so they can introduce draconian legislation for monitoring the net... Possibly paid for by taxing it.
[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that

That's the last thing we want
Yes, I can see it now.........if you want us to sort/stop this problem you have to give us control on what you see & do on the net.

Maybe the Government wants these emails so they can send their bank account details to help get some of dead Dr Umbongo's money, thats locked up in some nigerian bank. They think it will be a great way to recoup some of their debts

I would be wary of sending them infected emails, it would probably infect them and they would end up releasing nationally sensitve data into the hands of the scammers, I bet they are that incompetent....

  • Seems to me that this is a marketing campaign to raise awareness about scams. There's no indications that any action will be with the scam emails forwarded.

Yeah, that's right; they want our scam/phishing emails [rolleyes]; perhaps they can recirculate as the Conficker worm virus - take a look at the NHS :rotfl:.
