Hi,
Hopefully someone may have experience of this...
I have an old account that was with Abbey, which was overdrawn about £200.
Yesterday I received a statement from Santander that said the balance was £437.60, but didn't have a plus or minus next to it and no details of any transactions.
It looked just like a bank statement, but with nothing else on it.
Does anyone know if this should have a minus if it was overdrawn? I will go in to branch, but am a bit worried if I owe them over 400 quid.
Thanks everyone.
David

It should have a D after the amount if it means overdrawnJustice for the 96 YNWA

If there was a £200 overdraft outstanding, the balance is logically hardly likely to be a positive one is it?
It's probably a ploy to get you to make enquiries so that they can wring the money that you owe them out of you.0 -
It is something to do with them 'writing' it off in terms of passing it on to DRA. The amount stated is what you owe them. These letters are something to do with a change in CCA i think.0

I popped in to the branch today, they didn't know what the statement was, but after checking with a manager said my account had been closed and money written off?
Seems strange as I haven't heard from them in 3 years, so not sure exactly if thats true... Think i will write to them as I don't want this biting me in a year or so.
Thanks for your responses0
