Great spot OP. My two older kids aged 12 and 11 are always losing phones, so we have a bit of a policy that they are only allowed one of these phones, as they are effectively free. Not trendy, but not the ranting when it is lost. It takes them ages to use up the tenner as usually they are only used so we can locate each other as a family and for sporadic texts between them and mates. They have to put up with the invconvenience of "altering their number" as the deal for losing their phone !
To get back to the questions, yes, I have swapped the SIMS and used in other phones, where they appear to work. The phones from CPW have always been unlocked. Quidco have paid the fiver but for some reason have declined one I have bought two close together. And finally to ccmummy, yes, you could put your old SIM in one of these phones, but then you wouldn't be using the tenner of credit - if you could be bothered, put the SIM that you get with this phone in your bag and when you want to make a longish call, swap them - that way it really has cost you nothing if you are with quidco. You could port your old number to the new provider (e.g. O2 to Virgin) but a) this is a bit of a chew if you are phone=phobic and b) you may have some reason for wanting to stay with O2. HTH Sal x0 -
Cashinmyphone will give you £1.14 for the Samsung and the LG phones. Plus £4.50 from Quidco.

obviously the 5.00 quidco is not 100% guareenteed
you cant sell on the top up either as it has to be registered to the sim/imei number it was brought with as there not real top up vouchersyes but it has to be used with the phone other wise they block it if you try using it with other phones
The only thing I'd be worried about with this, is if they are pre-loading the top up to the sim before they send the phone out, as that would be the only way they could guarantee the top up goes onto the phone.Mummy to
