Zanussi Quick Wash Option...

I've just bought a Zanussi ZWD12210 washer dryer. This has a display which shows how long the programme has to run. I set a 60 degree wash but selected the Quick Wash option which should bring the washing time down from 1hr 40 to 1hr, and selected it to dry for 70mins. Therefore the total programme should be 2hr 10. The display showed an expected time of 2hr 27. Ok, a bit of difference, but after drying it does another 10 minutes of some anti-crease function, plus the manual says it sometimes adds 2mins to the drying time.
Thing is I glanced at the display a while back and it said 1hr 36 to go. When I looked again about 10 minutes later, it said 1hr 33 as if it had gone into slo-mo. The washing phase finished after about 1hr 35 rather than the 1hr that the quick wash should have taken. The Quick Wash light is definitely lit up.
Anyone any experience of Zanussis who can explain this?
Thanks.

Hi, lots of things can make the wash time adjust up or down. Does the quick wash option have a max load size indicated in the programme guide? I dont have a zanussi but when i select the fast wash option on mine, it extends the time if i have more than the max of 1.5kg limit. Also the cycle can extend if its taking longer to fill or empty i.e. low water pressure, squashed pipes, worth checking the install.0

Hi,
The countdown timers on most machines will recalculate on the fly as they determine incoming water pressure, incoming water temperature, load size, level or water required and so on. Simply having to rebalance the load for a spin can easily add ten to twenty minutes to the estimated time.
Think on it this way...
It's like satnav ETA times. If there's a clear road you can beat it, if there's something that holds you up then it recalculates the ETA.
So, these countdown timers are used as a guide only, they do not give times cast in tablets of stone and they can and, do, change as the machine operates.
