Credit Card Rejection

Can anyone help me please? I keep getting rejected for a credit card although I work full time (12 years), earn good money and bought a brand new car last October with no problems! I have nothing in my credit history as I checked and the only debt I have is an overdraft and a small bank loan. Even a high interest card knocked me back!!

Hi Paul,
Have you checked your credit file held by both Equifax and Experian?
Are you on the electorial role on both and does your address history match up on both/is it accurate?
Also, you say you bought a new car, how much was that if you don't mind me asking?
Have you got any other form of credit (mortgage, overdraft facility).never eat yellow snow0 -
If you haven't had a credit card before you may want to try some of the sub prime cards that are more likely to accept with limited history. Check out the very handy sub prime thread
Which cards have you been applying for. If you've been applying for cards with 0% deals and the like with limited history with credit cards then thats the reason for the decline most likely0 -

Hi,
I checked my file with Experian, I am also in mid-transfer of homes and renting at the moment before I buy another mortgage, I know I am on the electorial role so I dont think thats an issue.
The car cost £11,400 and the overdraft is £800.
Owning a credit card is not that important to me its just that I dont understand why the knock-back
thanks0 -
Was the car bought with cash or on finance?0
