Bun - you'll need to pay Europe rate to Dublin.
Back from town, now I know why I don't allow myself to venture down there as if I didn't concentrate I'd be spending who knows what!. Good job I was fairly focused after going to the bank, I only made 1 unscheduled stop on the way back and that was with the market butcher."Stay Wonky":D

Just a small bit of info. If you have a broken work record, as money women do if theyhave had kids etc, your State Pension may be affected.
For e.g. Mrs P is 2 years short of a Full Pension Record. To bringit uo to date would cost over £1000....but it would only make £6 a week difference to th Pension. Hardly worth it I think.
Its a bit of a faff, but useful.
Pepe,
I heard them talking about the amendments they had made to the system the other day. I thought that now meant you had to make it to 30 years for a full pension.

Morning all.
Cried and cried last night about getting the day of our friends wedding wrong (tomorrow not today). We can stll attend but have to be in work on monday morning and I have paid £125 for a hotel room for the night of the wedding (thinking it was for tonight). The wedding is several hours from home and work another hour from home
OH still asleep, so I am making brekkie. Options are:
* to go to bed in the hotel very early and leave terribly early to get to work,
* to leave the reception early and come home
* leave reception early and stay with a friend about 1hr from home, so a long morning drive but not as long as if done from hotel.
I've never paid that much money for a hotel in my life. I feel so sick about it - this was meant to be a treat. I rang my mum, and a friend, and cried and cried - and burnt my dinner.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -

Katsu - I've booked the hotel for the wrong day in Amsterdam before  In fact I do stuff like that all the time (forgetting tickets being a good one!)
Its a shame to lose the money - but its always worth pleading with the hotel to see if there's anything they can do! They might be able to give you some back if they re-sell the room for example.0 -
Katsu-that's one of my biggest fears,as it's always my job to book flights/hotels/tickets etc...I always start hyperventilating in check in q's,expecting them so say I've got the wrong day,or for the hotel to say they have no booking for me-hasn't happened yet though....Worst trip was honeymoon, when we did LA,Hawaii,San Fran,San Diego,Washington and NYC all on the same trip, had to book all hotels and flight for right days, and remember time changes etc....nightmare..
BB-where did you book in the end??Debt-free...and staying that way...0
