Does anybody know how serious a throttle positioning sensor fault is ??? The reason im asking is our em light keeps coming on ( very annoying ). A mechanic we know has said if there is no performance issues then leave it alone... Question is were going to london soon ( 200 miles ) and dont want to breakdown... he tells us that vauxhall vectras are prone to em fault lights coming on and not to worry. Anybody have an opinion ???

First try is to clean out the throttle body where this sensor fits as it can get gunked up with oil and dirt, which can play havoc to sensors;)
If you want to replace the sensor they are cheap enough on ebay
