Hi there - am really hoping someone can help me
Everytime I turn my pc on it comes up with an error message RUNDLL Error Loading C:\WINDOWS\System32\fdrdrv.dll, and although it will let me access the net, ie, it says it's connected all the pages say cannot find server. Any ideas anyone? Thanking you all in advance

Do you have Anti Virus and Anti Spyware installed?
It sounds very possible that this is a virus.
Try restarting your PC and booting into Safe Mode (Press F8 during boot) then run a full Virus and Spyware scan.0 -
Good advice above.
From what you say that file is bad. However, what is probably happening is that there is a run key saying "load this on start up..." but the actual file isn't there so it can't do it.
You need to remove that run key to stop getting that message.
Scan your computer with HijackThis, post the log here and you will get specific advice on which key to fix.0 -

Hi there, thanks for all the responses. I tried downloading the link from espresso on a memory stick at work to plug into my home pc, unfortunately it wouldn't let me load it as I don't have access to the internet currently (it says it is connected but every page you try and access says cannot find server). Any ideas that don't involve using the web? ThanksSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! If you don't have the program already on your computer you or a friend can download HijackThis to a floppy or CD then transfer it to the offline computer.
Save the log report at the end of the scan and post it here.0 -
use msconfig
http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/
and see if you can see that file on the list then untick it
then do as PChelpman says

As to that file I'm still of the opinion it's not on the system. We just need to kill the orphaned "run..." instruction. Probably an 04 key in the log.
Mum ..... try your best to post a HJT log. It will reveal things to us.0 -
Thanks guys - have downloaded hijack this onto a floppy, and printed off MSCONFIG - will have a look at both when I get home - and will update (hopefully tonight from my pc - if it works
, or maybe tomorrow from work again)
