i have finally decided to go bankrupt.

when exactly do i pay the fees and how to find my nearest court.
do i book a court date after submitting the form or can i do it before?

Hi, once you have the forms filled out, you just ring up the local court and see what sort of system they opperate, usually turn up in the morning or book a date. You pay when you go to the court on the date. you can book before submitting the formsHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.0 -

Hi,
have you taken professional adivce? to grant your bankruptcy order you need to have had advice from one of the debt advice charities like CCCS, national debt line or CAB.
After that, you will need to ring your local county court and find out whether its a drop in service or if you have to book a date. You should be able to find your county court if you google for it.
You pay your fees when you go to court.0 -
thanks for replying.
spoke to my local court and they have sent me the form, which i have filled in not sure if filled in right.
the court told me that once ive filled the form in i need to call the court and book date.
do i have to make two copies and take them with me on the day.
im so worried how everything is going to go....will keep everyone posted0 -
each court is different, you could ask them, never more than 3 copies are required thoughHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

i have spoken to court and they told me i need to call a week before, as im away and will be returning end of the month.
Ive got the fees ready and filled the form in, do i need to take anything else with me.
I must say mbna and halifax have been awful forcing me to pay but i stuck to my guns and made sure i dont pay a penny.
I have one more question the mortage is in joint names should i inform the mortage company that i am going bankrupt?
we would like one or two month break paying mortgage so that money can be used to clear my partners debts which means once im bankrupt and he pays his debt we will be completely debt free.
will it look strange if i went bankrupt and missed mortgage payment as we have no missed any so far.0 -
As Bethandkim says, have you taken advice from anyone or have you decided to go BR using your own discretion?:pB&SC No. 298

Good, as long you have taken advice there should not be a problem, ask as many questions as you feel you need to, we will always try and help you. Hope it all goes well for you:pB&SC No. 298
