A quick questrion regarding 12 month guarantees

Hiya everyone,

i just have a quick question, if i understand correctly, you buy an item and say 9 months later it goes faulty and you get a replacement, the gurantee still runs from the original purchase date.
what happens if at that 9 months you chose a different model and pay extra would the guarantee run from the original purchase date or the date you paid extra for a different item?

i recently had a washing machine replaced with a different model (no problems yet touch wood!)bought the original in feb 09 but exchanged in dec '09 so just curious as to when i am out of the 12 month period. ?
Can you see the mountains through the fog?

If you pay extra then they have effectively given you a full refund in credit towards a new purchase which you add too. Thus meaning there is a new contract and new warranty.
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

Be warned though as warranties are not legal requirements and so you may not even have one ( i doubt that though)

I assume you did get a new invoice showing your extra payment?

  • hiya Hudson,
