I am thinking of getting sky+.
Currently i have a regular skybox and the footy package.
As i understand it i will not need to pay the additonal £10 multiroom subscription if i take sky+.
The previous owners of my house had sky+ and there are 2 cables coming from the dish.
Can i can buy a sky+ box and install it myself and just ask sky to switch it on?
Can i watch 2 channels at once (ie multiroom) using the sky+ box - or can i only record 1 while watching another?
If not is there a way i can achieve this?
Can anyone recommend which are the best make of sky+box to get and what size hard drive would be a good minimum?
Would i be better of spending £50 and getting sky to supply and fit one?
All thoughts welcomed thank you.

first of all a great place to find answers for all things Sky is http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/ amongst many others they have a dedicated sky+ forum where with a little searching you should find all your questions answered
I`m not sure what you mean by multiroom, Sky multiroom refers to having a second box and skycard fitted in the second room, paying £10 monthly allows you to receive the same package as your main box.
Sky plus costs an extra £10 monthly unless you have a premium package like your football.
Sky+ boxes are available from a number of online suppliers (see digitalspy forum) and this is the only way to choose which box you get, A sky installer will fit whatever make is on his van with your name on it.
Sky plus has 2 inputs so you can receive 2 channels at once. There is only one decoder so you can only watch one channel. You can however record two programmes at once while watching something you have already recorded.
Some seem wary of Amstrad boxes and Pace have a long history of good sarellite receivers but they all work exactly the same.
Hope this is of some help

What i meant is you need a multiroom subscription for sky+ - however i was curious if you could actually use this as a multiroom system - perhaps using a digisender to tranamit the 2nd signal elsewhere in the house.
I'll have a look around digitalspy for some advice thank you.Fortune's always hiding, I've looked everywhere......0 -
All sky boxes have a RF outlet, you can use this to connect a second TV. If you enable it in the service menu you can use a sky link in the other room to transmit your remote control command back to the sky box along the RF cable. Unfortuantely the Sky box can only output the one programme at a time so you must watch the same programme in both rooms.

Thanks - i do already use the 2nd rf out to do just that on my standard sky box. I was hoping sky + would allow for 2 different outputs but i've since learnt different.Fortune's always hiding, I've looked everywhere......0
