Tarmac Drive

Hi All,
What sort of price should I be looking at to Tarmac a drive that is 20 metres by 3 metres. Any other similar priced options I should be looking at rather than Tarmac.

Thanks

Nick

    whats down now?
i would say between £1800 and £2200 for 60 m sq, for rip up, then hardcore, then tarmac finish.
  • Hi Allan,
Concrete then patchy tarmac. Think I will be able to lift the tarmac as its crumbling then will just be a tarmac base

  • Make sure you get it done properly by a reputable firm... i remember a neighbour who had his done, and it was done awfully, the sides weren't done properly and the tarmac... it was like playdoh !

    Good luck :)

Check with your local planning department as well because there is new legislation as to what can be used for driveways. It basically has to eb a permeable surface now. I'm not sure how this affects you if it's an existing driveway but definitely worth a phonecall before spending a lot of money only to find you may have to remove it!
  • Phone round all the garde and driveway companies in your area, you'll get a feel for prices. You might find that a monoblock surface works out quite reasonable, it may also answer the question of drainage. I have also seen some drives with pressed concrete, done well, it look great.
  • How much is Tarmac per the square metre roughly ? I'm thinking of replacing my old stone drive which has weeds growing out everywhere:(
