If you look at this list the coop card 450875 is definitely listed as full Visa Debit card and not an Electron.:mad::mad:

    dojo, that is fab thanks!

If they still try to say it is a Visa electron, I will do the copy of the card thing and that document.

    UPDATE!!!!!!

Just received this email from them, looks like a victory for the small person!! :D

Thank you for your further e-mail of 22 February 2010. Please accept my apologies for the delay in my response. I have been investigating this issue further, and I can confirm that our card acquirer, HSBC, who provide the card validation system used in our stations have confirmed that they had not updated their validation tables for us.

They raised an enquiry to clarify if the Bank Identification Number (BIN) had recently changed from being an electron card to a Visa card, as they were not aware that this BIN might have changed. Visa confirmed to them that this BIN had changed and HSBC are in the process of requesting a change within the BIN table to reflect this.

I can confirm that we are reliant on the card payment system when taking card payments - it is not something we can check ourselves. I trust that this is something that will become evident very shortly, however I do regret any inconvenience caused.

Thank you once again for your e-mail and for bringing this matter to our attention.

    Yours sincerely

I just hope they hurry up and do it now!!

It just shows that it is worth jumping up and down and making a fuss sometimes!!

Welldone Doucam, and please try and sort Tesco's out - I've tried and failed and at least 2 occasions! I would dearly love to shop online for my groceries again at Tesco's
