welcome finance and PPI reclaim

My wife took out a 6000 loan from Welcome in Nov 2008 - when she applied, I specifically told her not to get PPI, which she did not get (or she thought she did not)
I was going thru some papers and came across the CCA Agreement and it states she paid 1000 in PPI - which I was suprised at as she specifically asked not for the PPI
anyone got luck in getting PPI from Welcome Finance ? Any good or bad stories to tell from these lot about how they handle a claim
I myself successfully got PPI reclaim from Bank Of Scotland lasy year and this was very easy few letters and cheque sent to me.

Hi there
Have you also checked on the above success thread?
Was it Welcome Finance that actually sold your wife the loan or a broker, if a broker then you pursue with these, but otherwise Welcome finance.
Have you started the reclaiming on this yet?
More info here with guidelines of reclaiming:

Obviously you have done this before so know what to do
, so good luck with this and well done on your reclaim too. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi,
I think they have got a lot better at dealing with claims but be prepared, it is never quick.
I had to put my claim in with the FOS in October 2008 following Welcome Finance issuing me a Final Response letter claiming it was all legit. My case was concluded in November 2009 and they are to recalculate my loan as if the PPI was never included, refunded associated interests and an 8% interest simple. I have heard they have got massive backlogs which makes sense as to why I still haven't seen the colour of their money yet.
My advice is the sooner you submit the claim, the better.
