At the very least to justify the overdraft rate increase Barclays should increase the rate on their savings products. That way Barclays could be seen to be fair and reasonable. But that has not happened.

I agree with you on that.

Most banks have savings rates that are similar to Barclays these days, due to the recession. Hopefully, after the recession, the interest rates will be better.

...Or until the BOE raises the base rate again.

Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.

OK, Wendy Alcock. I challenge you to find me somewhere that will provide all the following:
    • Insurance for my iPhone
    • Insurance for my partner's iPhone
    • AA Roadside Breakdown cover for myself
    • AA Roadside Breakdown cover for my partner
    • European multi-trip Travel Insurance for myself
    • European multi-trip Travel Insurance for my partner
    • Sentinel Card Protection for the whole household
for better than £7.95 a month from Lloyds TSB (Silver joint account).

Tried it, couldn't do it. Even after Quidco et al.

I pay £10 a month to Barcs for 2 accounts, both have £2500 free overdraft and then an additional £5,000 and £2,500 facility, I can also increase the facility online instantly if needed.

I have a permanently approved £25,000 loan which i can call off online in about an hour and have done so in the past.

I also have a real person who I can speak to who knows me and my situation and i get excellent service.

And then there's the other bits n bobs like the insurance.

If you go to a restaurant you pay extra (than doing it yourself ) for the service.

    Bargain in my book.
