Digi Camera Advice Pls

Options
Hi guys

Looking to spend around £150 on a new digital camera and was looking at getting a Kodak v530 as I borrowed a friends recently and was quite impressed.

Although since then I have also played with a Fuji F455 which I understand has now been superseeded by the F470.

So I thought it would be a straight fight between the F470 and Kodak v530 until I noticed Fuji have a F11 zoom which looks good too.

Can anyone tell me which the better camera out of these three is or perhaps recommend any other ones around £150.

Cheers

Mate, like most things in life, it depends on what you want to use it for, your level of competence etc.
Here is a good place to start. Settle in for a long read, get your priorities sorted out and then make a short list. Then off you go to the local high street perveyor of all things camera. Check out your short list, how it feels, is it well made and the like. Then off to the inter web for the best deal.
    Have fun!

The Fuji F470 is currently £129 at Currys. Beats the Kodak in my book, and I sell a lot of cameras.

As Zahc said, it depends what you're planning to use it for.

I recently posted a thread deliberating several Digital Cameras. There were some good review and advice sites posted by people.

    See here

The Fuji F11 was one of the cameras I was condisering and I ended up buying it (£149.99 Jessops). I had a play with it this weekend and was impressed. The only problems I really had, were seeing the LCD screen in the bright sun. Despite this, I managed to line up the shots I wanted and I was pleased with the photos when I downloaded them to my PC.

    Thanks guys

I've now narrowed it down to the two Fuji's (my m8 recommended Fuji to me as well).

So do I go down the F11 or F470 route?

Just going to be using it for casual purposes, maybe taking some pics of my local football team but nothing professional.

What do you reckon would be the better out of the two?

Have a look at the following for a detailed feature comparison:

I'm looking for a new camera too and liked the look of the 470. Previous camera is/was a FujiFilm a340 - great little camera, but getting on a bit now and i think a recent trip to the beach killed it!

    Thanks guys for your advice.

Actually didn't realise that Fuji use XD cards which seem a lot more expensive than the SD variety and I have a 1gb card for one of these too.

Can anyone recommend a good cam around £150 ish that utilises the SD varierty.

Also Nickmack - what camera's were you considering? and how do you download the pix to the pc - does it have a direct input or do you need to go down the card reader route?

I just bought a 1Gb XD card for £32.90 from eBay, not quite as cheap as SD cards but not too bad.

See this thread for discussion on my shortlist.

I also wanted to compare the F11 Zoom against the Casio Exilim Z600 but cannot find it on that site.

Do you know how they compare? - what would you recommend out of the two?

    I think it's about £150 for the F11 and £155 for the EX-Z600.
