I can quite believe this article.Nice and rather believable article in today's The Register:
The myth of Britain's manufacturing decline
Production of higher value goods; with more efficiency; it all makes sense.
However, a part of me thinks that our society needs a method of providing gainful employment to the vast majority of our working populace. I also don't think the answer is swelling the public sector by nigh on 1 million, like Labour have done.
Maybe we need profitable industry and break-even industry as 2 sectors? It's just a guess.0 -
