some people make ethical choices some don't; my children having learnt about the nestle story choose mostly not to eat nestle products - they never get them at home
if you make a choice and are happy about it why worry about what others say?
just out of curiosity though, do you buy your daughter anything she likes as you could say this was a questionable? I am not suggesting buy stuff your daughter does not like but you are saying you are aware of the 'baby milk thing' and your daughter's desire for a product is more important?
just asking - and no I don't want to get slammed either but am curiousThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -
I am not buying them as they contain cochenial, reason enough for me-yuck!0

Bah, I would stop buying them if they weren't so damn nice and they didn't make the kids happy.
AS they fill both of the above criterea I will carry on.0 -
Flamin heck .. can anybody tell me what I am allowed to buy ... so the latest boycott-of-the-minute is Nesquik .. yea right ... I will just add it to the list of people I have been asked to boycott in the last 6 months including
BP, Shell, Esso, Texaco, Sainsbury's, Tesco, Asda, Marks & Spencer, Lidl, Aldi, Kelloggs, Nestle, Heinz, Princes, JCB, Caterpillar, IBM, Microsoft, Sun, HBOS, Halifax, Abbey, Barclays, Legal & General, Nationwide etc. etc. etc. ... I am way past caring ...
Each person should look at whatever the heck it is they want to buy and make up their own minds.

you may buy whatever you choose to buy no-one forces you to buy or not buy. You appear to be intelligent from your messages but it would be a shame if you did become past caring.
"Each person should look at whatever the heck it is they want to buy and make up their own minds." exactly but so much better if people do make informed choices!Baby Milk Action is a non-profit organisation which aims to save lives and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate infant feeding.0 -

I always remember one of the conservative MPs at an old party political conference putting up a ghetto blaster and 'rapping' his way through everything he has been asked to ban.

Not to mention they are about 20p a straw. The adverts don't use a half pint glass either. lol. A rip off compared to the usual powder.0

It is up to everybody to decide what they do or do not want to buy.
To make an informed decision, you need to know the facts, or if the facts are in dispute, the evidence supporting each point of view. For that reason, I point out the evidence regarding Nestle's ethical stance. It is then the persons decision what they want to do with the information. Many people just ignore it. At least they have been able to make an informed decision.
My wife and myself have chosen to avoid Nestle products when practicable. If is not always easy to do as Nestle have so many brands, and there is not always a suitable alternative.
The children know a simplifed version of why we do this. They will aviod buying Nestle if a simlar alternative exists. However when it comes to buying sweets, so many brands are owned by Nestle, if is often hard to avoid them.
On "sweety day", if the children decide that they want can only be purchased in a Nestle brand, then we allow them to buy it. When we eat at a restaurant, sometimes a Kit-Kat is part of the meal-deal of Smaties are part of the desert. In these instances we let then have them.
We have decided to be pragatic. We avoid Nestle where we can, but do not let this run our life.
That is what we do. What you decide is a matter between you and your concience. I respect that you have the right to your ethical beliefs, I just ask that you respect that I have the right to mine.[size=-2] If this post was unhelpful, please tell me.
