Hi,
My Partner is in the Royal Marines and we would like to apply for the LSAP for a deposit on a house.
I dont know if anybody knows the answer to the question but, does the mortgage have to be in the name of the person who is applying for the LSAP? Or if i had the mortgage in my name would my partner not be entitled to the LSAP even though he will be living there?
Many Thanks

The servicman applying for the LSAP has to be on the ownership documents of the house they are applying for I believe. As you are not really supposed to rent properties out that have had help off LSAP I really can't see it being any other way.0

Hi!
I used my LSAP to buy a house with my partner and everything (deeds, mortgage, council tax etc) is all in joint names and it went through without a problem. I don't think it will be possible for him to get an LSAP if his name isn't going to be on anything.
Good luck! :-)0
