DVLA - never recieved V5

Options
I bought a car in November and despite telling the previous owner to send off her side of the V5 to the DVLA its now Feb so im guessing its not coming. How do I go about sorting this as im sure not paying for one, as its not my fault. I still have the new keeper section i just need to get a new V5 in my name.

cheers

TBH I think you will have to pay for one. £25 I believe.

It is down to the previous keeper to send off the V5 (V5C)

As long as you have the green V5/2 (V5C/2) then you will (should) not need to pay for a new one.
Download an application form HERE On the notes it states (Sect D) You do NOT have to pay if the previous keeper has not informed them.

  • If you have the green slip - new keeper's supplement V5C/2 - and attach this to V62 then it should be free

I'd photocopy the green slip before you attach the original to the V62 - just in case Royal Mail are their usual efficient selves when it comes to losing mail :rotfl:

Went in to my local dvla office today and sorted it all out. They never recieved it from her so I filled out the V62 and handed over my new keeper slip and they are going to send out the V5 in my name. Was free of charge aswell. cheers all!
