think I was extremely lucky when I went into boots on Sunday - I picked up the no 7 compact make up mirror - uknow the one thats not so compact - anyway thanks to this site - saw that you could get the make up rolls thats out at the mo and it would work as the original full price of the mirror was more than £22 anyway took both to the counter and asked if I could use the no 7 £5 off voucher with it - the girl said no - I said are you sure - she checked with her manager who said well we are not supposed to as this is classed asbeing from the elctrical range - I said it doesnt use any electricity so she said go on then just this once - anyway it took a while to go through as the till kept messing about - anyway the nezt thing I knew it had come up as £3.74 and the girl asked her manager what to do and she said oh its ok put it through as that - so yippee I came out with a mirror and the make up/roll set all for the princely sum of £3.74 - so chuffed!!!! Would love to ask again but I darent! - lol
I ordered that "compact" mirror last month along with Dr Nick Blemish cream £8.95. Used a £5 off code. The mirror being £24.99 originally gave me the gwp makeup bag and I paid £11.93 when the parcel was delivered to the store and I realised how big the mirror was (and how awful my skin looks magnified 8 times :rotfl:) I asked about a refund. They refunded £11.86 for the mirrror and forgot to take the gwp back.
So £0.07 for makeup bag and spot cream ....... best boots bargain yet :j0 -

Used a voupon today to treat my mum. Was looking for a clear top coat but they had sold out so got a No7 So Strong, its clear too but no instructions as whether it goes on before or after you nail varnish. Can anyone help please?
Hi Tinyshoes
I put a couple of coats of So Strong on first, then base coat, then colour coat, 2 if it's a bit "watery", then another coat of So Strong, and I re-apply another coat of So Strong every day or two.
I used to bite my nails and had Acrylics for years, which ruined them further, and made them like paper, constantly splitting and breaking.
About 5 years ago I decided to really try and break the habit, and it took about a year for my nails to get strong. But it was worth it, :j and now I wouldn't dream of going out without varnished nails!!!
It works best if you can leave as much time as possible between each coat. HTH:)

Thankyou so much for your tips SandraScarlett, I will pass them on to my mum. :T
Im afraid Im not in the habit of painting my nails because I have tiny hands, hence my name! I can never find rubber gloves to fit so find that whenever I washup etc. I have wasted my effort. I wonder if this So Strong would be good for me if I made the effort? Would it help stop chipping and peeling if I used it everyday? I had never seen it before it was only because I was looking for the top coat and had promised my mum something with my voupon. And I still have one tucked in my bag for me.
Trouble is Im a bit of a magpie and have built up a collection of colours of nail varnish, got few last year for free with the No7 vouchers, think was when clearance things worked with them or maybe I just found a really nice SA. They only get used couple times a year and I really should use them up before they are no good to anyone.

Hi Tinyshoes. In all honesty, I can't believe all these Top Coats, clear Base Coats etc, are very different to each other, and I've found it's just a case of putting something on to protect your nails.
I tried the Sally Hansen Diamond Strength range, which was more expensive, but couldn't notice any difference to justify the price. I've found that the extra coats, over the nail varnish, do help to stop chipping.
But the only drawback is when they do chip, the build-up of several coats leaves such a big gap, it looks like a pot-hole on the end of your finger!!!
But my polish normally lasts about a week, providing I remember to put rubber gloves on when necessary - and to leave the most hazardous jobs to my DH!!

Hi there everyone,
Can any of you lovely London Bootsers please tell me how much different in price the No7 accessories are to local prices!!!
May be popping to London on Friday and have a couple of vouchers to use and I would really like some No7 accessories - key ring, bag etc.. as my local only has the sponges and nail files.
Many thanks.....0 -

Certain items are more expensive. I know the nail varnishes are 50p dearer.0 -
Boots Health and Beauty magazine March/April has a coupon for 200 advantage points when you buy any No 7 blusher. Presumably you can combine with the £5 off voucher and get one for the equivalent of £1.75. Looked to see if already posted but its so much harder now without the dedicated Boots thread.0
