Orchid V4+ - CLI stopped working

I have a V4+ that is about 16 months old, which has been working fine in general, and I've been using Kevin Lawry's programming tool which has been fantastic.

Unfortunately the CLI (caller line ID) has now stopped working. When I unplug the dialler and plug the extension lead straight into the master socket, CLI works fine, but when I put the dialler back into the loop, CLI doesn't get passed through the dialler (i.e. my DECT phones don't display numbers for incoming calls). It definitely worked with the dialler for about the first year, and I don't remember changing anything that would cause this.

This is of course especially bothersome given that I can't just buy a replacement, since no one makes them any more. :(

Anyone got any ideas about how to diagnose/fix this?

Thanks,
Anton

I know Orchid always used to say that you needed the V4+ for CLI (although most people found the V4 passed that information without difficulty) but, as you have a V4+ with the extra power supply .......

About the only possibility (believe me, I hate saying this) is the classic, "It's a computer. It's got confused. Re-boot it" response (disconnecting from the mains and the phone line simultaneously should only cause the V4+ to drop its day/date/time settings so that's not really a risk).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • Thanks Heinz. I tried that but no joy so far. I think I'll try leaving it unplugged for longer and try again.
  • Do you have broadband ?

A failing/poor quality microfilter can interfere with CallerID.
