    Do both drives show up in the POST screen (when it first starts up?)

    Enter the BIOS (DEL, F1 or other key - depending on your board).

    Check both drives are detected.

    If not check that both drives have the power and IDE (or S-ATA) cables plugged in.

    For IDE drives check that the master / slave configuration is correct (only one master and one slave per channel).

  • Go into Disk Management in the MMC and check the partition is active.

    Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Disk Management
