mature student funding

Options
im 27 and am 2/3 way through the 1st year of a degree. i am getting a student loan and im having to pay my fees myself(i live in Scotland, but have done a course before). i spoke to saas about a mature student bursary and was told that it didnt start till next year, but i have found out that that is incorrect and will be phoning them tomorrow.

is there any other areas i can look into for funding?

thanks

Have you looked at the links on the Saas re. additional sources of funding? HERE
  • ive received the discretionary fund, and travel expenses but with another 850 pounds to pay on my fees im going to struggle a bit i think. im looking into the regional educational endowments and other grants at the min but if there are any other ideas they would be helpful.

    thanks

Have you used the scholarship search (linked on the SAAS site I linked to)? That may give you options on grants available for you to apply for from charitable organisations. Various organisations give money to students based on different criteria (subject, age, sex, religion, ethnicity etc...). The scholarship search may help point you in the direct of these.
Also there's the Education Grants Advisory Service which also has a searchable database

Not in Scotland and not if you've already done a course.
