What to do with a tiny Bathroom?

Well, I'm hoping someone can post some tips or experiences here as I'm trying to figure out what to do with my bathroom.
Bit of background, bought my first house just before christmas, love the location and the house itself and got it for a great price with the catch being it's a bit of a do-er upper and the bathroom is quite pokey (roughly 3m x 1.75/2m). The main house is quite a nice size but as with mid-terrace 2 up 2 down houses the kitchen and bathroom are now in a 1 storey extension out the back of the house with the bathroom through a door off the kitchen.
Now as you can see by the dimensions above it's very small, it has a bath toilet and wash basin squeezed in there at the moment but I'm am considering just putting in a walk in shower to free up space and make the bathroom seem bigger. Has anyone had experience of doing up a bathroom this size and how they improved it. The ideal situation would be to put a second floor on the extension and put the bathroom upstairs but it'll be a few years savings before I have the price of a job like that;) Any tips or input appreciated

we are renovating a house, also with a tiny bathroom. if you are looking to sell then if you are aiming it at families def don't get rid of the bath. but if it is for you in the longterm then don't worry about it. you can get shorter baths (1500 length) or you could look at a showerbath (you can get them in 1500,1600 or the standard 1700 length). get a smaller wc and basin - good styles are RAK ceramics compact range, the tc mini range or ideal standard SPACE range. you can get good deals on them all online if you shop around. our downstairs loo is so tiny that the only toilet that will fit in is a short projection one so we are limited with what we can use. use large tiles to make the bathroom look bigger, that always helps as well.0
