If your are using a Wi-Fi connection, try a wired connection and see if you still get disconnects. This will help narrow down what's wrong.

have you tried changing the wireless channel the router is broadcasting on? you may be getting interference

You can check here to see if there are any updated drivers for the wifi card.

Although unless disabled, the Toshiba "Tempo" service (I think) should have told you automatically if there are.
