Mileage: I keep a daily log of all miles that I've done for MS work. I just jot down the places I visited and the total number of miles I did. It's built into my spreadsheet where I keep track of job payments and expenses. It automatically works out my mileage at 40p a mile and deducts it off my running gross profit figure to give a net profit. Yes I'm sad :oQUOTE]

Thinking of getting a printer as my current inkjet isn't compatible with my vista laptop. Been spending time & money at the local internet cafe printing of pages. I'm personally seeing this cafe through the credit crunch :rotfl:. Argos are doing all-in-ones for around £35 so i think it'd be a good investment.
Thanks guys, i really appreciate the tax info, will be on the phone to the tax-man in a few days to register as self-employed. Argghhh!!!!
whatever you do, check the price of ink online for the printer before you buy! mine is so stupidly expemsive and is more for ink that the blasted thing cost! i have tried the 2x cartridge and am noting how many pages i get. after that if it is still a lot i am looking into getting one where i can buy £5 re-filled cartridges:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -

Just in response to all the chat about printers.....
I have recently switched to a laser printer, and I am now saving an absolute *fortune* on ink. I got a second hand HP Laserjet 4000 series from Ebay for £80, the laser cartridges are about the same, but I get around 10,000 pages out of 1 cartridge. Admittedly it is only black and white, but it's 10 x faster than an inkjet and so much less frustrating now that I don't run out of ink every few days!0 -
