it depends on the company and job and it should make it clear whether it is. i know abai do some visits where there is a minimum spend and the fee does not cover it. only worthwhile therefore if its something you want anyway or are allowed to take back for a refund! :(

Thank you. Thats who I was asking about but didn't want to enter into the naming game lol! :rotfl:

    Hi :)

can I ask a question regarding fuel costs again please?

I was using the Michelin route planner website yesterday and came across a handy tool. it seems you can add an option to see how much fuel you will use on your journey. For example it asks you the current price of fuel per litre and your size of car. it automatically tells you the cost 1 way.

Would you say that this is an accurate way to record for tax purposes. Does anyone use this as a guide?

A few people have told me how to calculate fuel costs but it's going over my head to be honest. My car does 50 miles to the gallon. other than that I'm leaving the costs blank at the minute.

you are allowed to claim 40pm for tax purposes so i would stick that down x the amount of miles you did regardless of how much it actually cost. it will be higher than the actual cost so should result in paying less tax :T

i will check that tool out though as it will be useful for working out the 'actual' cost of mileage to help me decide whether it is worth me doing a job! :)

Just find out how many miles it is from your house to the job, double it and claim 40p per mile. That's how you do it.
  • care to share? (will understand if you want to keep it under wraps! :D)

i am not old enough to do car circuits so am desperately trying to get my shops up to 20 so i can apply

Wouldn't hold your breath. I've had more than twenty for ages applied for everything that came up and still nothing... And I'm sick of the sight of car circuits :)

I am old enough to do car circuits. I responded to an email they sent me asking if I could do some local one's, I said yes but only this weekend and they were still pending in my apps so I have had to cancel the apps. They are also still on the job board. I have a job pending that should have been done days ago and have no idea why I am not getting allocated anything :(

I agree with you blindman. Everytime anyone gets told the rules on this thread we get this "I am taking my toys to play elsewhere". Then we get accused of being bossy or in my case of being a clique leader.

Blindman and some other long term posters on here will know that 1 company identified me. Perhaps some company employees register on gere to monitor what we say about them. This same company objected on another forum to constant criticism of them and demanded the critical posts be removed. The admin person refused so they sacked her.!!!

It is possible some company will report theis thread to Martin Lewis. He then might have no option but to close it down.

Blindman is very wise and extremely experienced. You would do well to listen to him rather than arguing against him. He didn;t create the rules.

I find it quite astonishing that this has been twisted and blown out of all proportion. To clarify...... for the mentally challenged...
    1. I commented on the harshness of the reply given to Angel's post because she had not breached confidentiality.
    2. No one was throwing toys out of prams, just saying that it was very harsh and calling on everyone to be sensible with their posts.
    3. I did not say that confidentiality should be abandoned.
    4. I have never argued against Blindman, he chose to read more into my reply than was actually there, with the result that this has got twisted round and confused.

No, just trying  to re-iterate what others have said in that everyone has signed up to a confidentialltiy agreement.

Now, if you do not heed this and Blab about what fees you get and what client you shop for a particular MS CO then their rivals will have this info (without a staff member signing up for the rival ) at no cost and up to date.

The rival will then have info to approach client and undercut to get the contract.

    Result is
    No FEE

    No FUEL
    140 Q's job and
an expense allowance that is a "contribution" to the required spend.

    Not rocket Science :D

I don't think anyone is disputing this, but if "supermarket" is considered naming clients then surely the alerts thread needs to be suspended?

I was responding to your quote that the "heavy mob should chill"

I was not directing any of my subsequent posts to any particular person just trying to remind the whole posting fraternity that "loose talk (in theory)cost jobs"

    BTW
I am not the Obi Wan Kenobi ;) of MSing (thanks HP )
