Families cash in on summer holiday sale: Daily Mail

Has anyone seen any of the bargains mentioned in this Daily Mail front page story?

It says 'Holiday companies have been forced to slash prices to as little as £79 for a week in the sun and £45 for a return flight to Spain.'

Any thoughts from our travel industry insiders, and where can I find the bargains, please?

As soon as the school holidays start , the real bargains end.

Just booked for August 5th. Managed to get a weeks half board in majorca for £860 for a family of 3 (at a decent Sol hotel with saturday day flights). This is a very good price for the school holidays.
You are lucky to find anything under £300 per person during school holidays.

The companies won't have to drop the prices to sub £200 to sell them during school hols. The only chance of getting sub £200 is to wait until the day before you want to depart.

Just saw hols £11 for week, room only in Altinkum, Turkey from Bristol, through Coop Travelcare, leaving tomorrow. It shows B&B & other Dalyman resorts around £21 for week!

Of course, it's 'From £11, plus taxes', but that still sounds like a bargain to me if you could do it!

Wish I could go, I love Altinkum. I hope this helps someone.
