Last week's: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=224706
Bit of a crap performance:
Check career development is fully paid off
-- Done.
Chase up two magazines to whom I pitched articles
-- Nope, carry forward to next week.
Chase up extra shifts
-- Nope, carry forward to next week.
Start looking for a flat in London (Loot, Gumtree etc..)
-- Started. Reassuring to see there are some nice sounding places that we can afford. If only I had the time to look at any of them!
Look into AQA, mystery shopping etc
-- Failed miserably, carry forward to next week. Anyone got any tips on how to get started as an AQA researcher? (I'm a journalist by day, so I reckon I'd be OK at it).
Three no-spend days
-- Only managed two (Sunday and Monday). Must do better.
Three no alcohol days
-- Only managed two (Sunday and Monday). Must stop drinking at home - it doesn't serve any purpose at all.
Find ten things to put on Amazon or Ebay
- Added 15 items to Amazon, but none of them have sold this week.
NEXT WEEK:
Three no alcohol days, strictly no drinking at home alone.
Three no spend days, take lunch to work every day.
Check Amazon marketplace prices and adjust the stuff I'm selling if they're no longer the cheapest available.
Chase up two magazines to whom I pitched articles.
Fix up two extra shifts at local paper, chase up the invoice they've owed me for months.
Continue the flat hunt.
Look into AQA, mystery shopping etc.
Put Egg Money card back in the black when statement arrives on Monday.

Here are last weeks goals:
Ok I'm off work this week so slightly different to normal:
1. Clean the house from top to bottom well some effort was made but an abysmal performance on the whole
2. Have three days out (without spending vast amounts) - already had one yes - walking in Yorkshire Dales, day trip to Haworth (did spend £30 that wasnt planned but was going to go to Yorkshire Show so net cost only £10) and Bolton Abbey - very little spent apart from £30today so another two to go (and a no spender too)
3. Have three no spend days will be three if I count today
4. Quit smoking well it lasted half a day - I'll start again tomorrow. I think I had too much time on my hand this week and if I'm busy it'll take my mind off it
This weeks goals then:
1. Quit smoking as of tonight
2. Do some serious meal planning in preparation for grocery challenge with Lynz/Elantan/Scottish Spendaholic
3. Grocery spend must be £17.50 or less this week to get challenge off to a good start
4. Going out on Friday (works do) so dont spend a lot.
5. Set up standing order so I can start saving up for some big bills I have to pay in Sept/Oct
Good luck everyone with your goals this week. The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0 -
Goal not to spend on my barclaycard.
Walk home from playgroup on all three days
Stop smoking.Barclaycard 3800
Nothing to do but hibernate till spring

Miserable week last week. I really will have to take up the offer of a buddy I can ring to kick my !!!!!! in to shape.
This week. 3 no spend days- Finances are dire now, i have to achieve this.
Walk home from work at least twice

Carry on being wonderful (This won't be hard:rotfl: )0 -
off work this week on holiday and no outgoings so. SPEND NOTHING WEEK hopefully
EDIT oh and be under 15k by month end0 -
From last week:
1) - Get lesson prices for driving lessons with a female instructor, carried over from the last two weeks! Have got some numbers, but haven't called for prices yet.
2) - Take packed lunch to work every day. Also try and think of some creative lunch ideas. Yes I took lunch in every day and I have thought of some different ideas to sandwiches (mainly pasta or rice dishes, but makes a change!)
3) - Resist buying some new jeans until payday at end of month as only have £30 to last until then... Have resisted so far and have budgeted for new jeans for when I do get paid.
4) - Continue with healthy eating. Was doing great with healthy eating until yesterday when I had a cheeseburger for lunch and a Chinese takeaway in the evening...
Goals for this week:
1) - Going camping next weekend, so need to take some food/drinks with us, so we don't have to buy every meal. Also try and stay within my budget of £50 for the weekend.
2) - Eat healthily Monday - Friday as I just know takeaways/fast food will feature somewhere while we're away!
3) - Phone driving instructors for lesson prices if I can, but as I work full time and will be away at the weekend, I might not be able to get hold of anyone this week.
4) - Five no spend days (apart from cereal and food/drinks for time away.)0 -
Last week:
1. 2 no spending days (apart from diesel) None. Am evil.
2. List the 3 things I shold have listed last week. Done. Not selling yet though  LK Bennett shoes for a fiver anyone????
3. Another 3000 pigsback points. Claimed 1500, not had yet. 2 x 1500 to claim once 1st lot paid (booked for 3 people at same hotel, want to claim 1 at a time) Booking another 1500 today and another 1500 when here where meeting to be in 2 weeks time.
4. Freezer - have been v good at stocking up cheaply (esp with tesco R&R's) need to see what I have & menu plan for next 2 weeks. Didn't do this but ate out of freezer. Have enough left to last 2 weeks, will go and plan NOW!
5. Lose 2lbs. holiday in 4 weeks, at rate I am going will need to lose 12lbs overnight to fit into clothes....... Haven't weighed myself as know have failed miserably.
This week - stop being so pathetic and do the following:
1. List 3 more things on ebay.
2. 3 no spend days. Am allowing myself 1 trip to pub Friday lunchtime, haven't been for weeks. Walk by the canal on all those 3 at lunchtime. However, may let myself off tomorrow as bad cold & feeling really ropey - may want to stay in air con at lunch.
3. Menu plan & stick to it!!!!!!
4. Claim as many pigsback points as feasible, book hotel and car for weekend away via quidsco, not much cash back but cheapest sites anyway.
5. Finish decorating, abandoned it today as feeling so rough.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
