Steam mops are they worth the money?

i watched a home tv ad for one of these a while ago and they looked fab but the price was over £100..just reading the tv guide and there is one on there for £30 usually £60 which is a good price..does floors and carpets..question is are they any good? we have 3 hard floors ide use and laminate plus carpet on halls and stairs..

Does anyone have one and is it any good?

I bought a Home Tek one as my Polti steam cleaner is coming to the end of its life and I got sick of heaving such a big contraption around. Unfortunately, the Home Tek one wasn't nearly as effective - it felt like I was just pushing a lukewarm, damp cloth around the floor, and had little to no cleaning power. I ended up going back to the old mop and bucket method for my kitchen.

I bought a cheap £30 one last year from my catalogue and I think its ok-good. I didn't want to spend a fortune on something I may not like but I do think that I will buy a better brand when this one dies as I am happy with mine.
